Acupuncture
What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an effective form of Traditional Chinese medicine that has evolved into a complete and holistic medical system. Traditional Chinese medicine is one of the oldest therapeutic health practices used today. It is based on the concept of balancing Yin, Yang and Qi (vital energy). Practitioners of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive system to diagnose and help millions of people get well and stay healthy. It can improve overall function and well-being and is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems. Acupuncture is often used in conjunction with pharmaceuticals, surgeries (preparation and recovery) as well as other treatments. It can be used to help reduce side effects or even treat conditions by itself.

Your office visit:
During the initial exam a full health history will be taken. Questions will be asked regarding symptoms, health and lifestyle. After the interview process, you may receive an acupuncture treatment in which a fine, sterile needle is placed at specific acu-points on the body. This activates the body’s energy (“Qi”) and promotes natural healing by enhancing recuperative power. Depending on your condition(s), acupuncture visits may last from 30-90 minutes.
